Star Wars Wood Wall Art Spray Paint Painting
I made this Tie Fighter for my son for his upcoming birthday. he loves all the ships from any and every show or movie that has a Spaceship in it. his favorite has been the tiefighter from star wars.
so i made him this wood wall art tie fighter ship for his bedroom wall. i hope he likes it and i hope you guys do to.
i ramble a bit in the video but it was alot of fun to make and i hope you take some pointers away from this video and make something like it at home for yourself, a kid in your life or as a gift for someone else.
this project was made using
Plywood (you can use cardboard if you would like)
a saw to cut out your image (i used a Jigsaw) if you used cardboard you would want a sharp boxcutter. becareful not to cut yourself. ask for help if you are underage. no shame in a helping hand guys.
~~100% acrylic~~ wall paint and primer WHITE (gloss or Flat) if using cardboard id still suggest priming it to help the paint POP brighter. a spray on primer can be used in place of a brush kind.
sand paper 200 grit will do. you can use a power sander or hand sand it. skip the sandpaper if you used a spray on primer
a marker or something to trace your image outline on the wood or cardboard
a image printed off line or you can hand draw your image to really make it fun
computer paper if printing the image.
Spray paint because thats what we use on this channel guys! get the colors you will need for your image of choice. acrylic brush paint can be used instead of spray.
a clear coat spray. gloss for a shine. matt if you dont want it to shine. krylon or rustoleum make great clear coats. avoid enamel on the label.
a sharpie or sharpies for finer details
a wire and some eye hooks or nails to make a way to hang it on the wall. any method of choice to hang it works.
if printing a image i suggest taking out alot of the darker color in some sort of editing program to save on ink. this is optional.
if printing a image and a little stuck on where to get the image. open your browser. type in what image you want to use example: (minions) and then hit enter. click the tab that says Images and look for the image that you want to use. try adding words like coloring page or black or clip art to you search if you dont see a image you like. once found right click over the image and click save as and then open the image in a editing program like Microsoft paint or photo shop. set the image up in in page set up where if using microsoft paint you can make the image go from one sheet to more then one sheet making the larger.
print and have at it.
enjoy the video guys. hope its useful. wish my son a happy birthday and i hope all of you have a most awesome day out there.
questions? ask below and ill try to help.
