If you’ve never heard of pineapple wine before, then welcome to the world of fruit / pineapple wine.This exotic, fragrant wine is incredibly popular in Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Thailand and Japan, where pineapple wine recipes and techniques are passed down from generation to generation, and shared only with close family and friends.
The natural sourness of the pineapple stops the wine from becoming cloyingly sweet, but the unusually high sugar content of the fruit means that it is perfectly suited for fermentation, and will hold its natural flavors even after six months of preparation.
